Make Sure Your SEO Goes Out Of Its Way For You
February 5, 2008 | Leave a Comment
If they want to have success, companies should do everything they can to ensure that their SEO firm doesn’t provide lousy service.
Here are 10 tips to keep in mind:
1. Be realistic.
Don’t waste your time or the SEO firm’s expertise by arguing about broad search terms. Don’t say you want to be in the Top 10 for “e-commerce.” The SEO firm should ask: “E-commerce and what else? E-commerce consultants? Please be specific.”
2. Think long-term.
If you can’t help yourself and you want broad search terms, such as “toys,” think through what it may take to pull that off. Variations on your favorite term may be best in the short term. If you start looking a year or two out, then make sure there aren’t site design, programming and link popularity flaws.
3. Be open with log files.
Don’t shield log files from the SEO firm. Admit if your web analytics capability is poor. How can the SEO firm do a good job if your host company can’t provide decent statistics, such as the number of visitors from search engines and the actual search terms they use?
4. Change text.
If an SEO firm wants to change text, give the consultant lots of room. If a graphic can be modified so the words appear as text, be open-minded about the change. it won’t hurt the overall look of the web site. SEO professionals grit their teeth when clients say they want rankings and then resist change.
5. Don’t sit on recommendations.
You may end up discouraging the SEO firm you’re paying if you hire them and then fail to review their suggestions.
6. Reply to e-mails, voicemails and other communications.
If an SEO firm contacts you, especially for a scheduled meeting, make a point to return the e-mail or call. Really, it’s a good idea to be available for strategic conference calls.
7. Stick to the program.
Don’t ask the SEO firm to optimize the web site and then expect them to provide Pay-Per-Click (PPC) guidance as well. If you can’t handle PPC on your own, pay the experts.
8. Keep statistics in perspective.
With many search terms and engines, it’s always going to be possible for some keywords not to rank. Don’t get hung up on what search terms didn’t pop in the Top 30. Focus on your traffic growth and conversions.
9. Know your limits.
SEO firms appreciate informed clients – to a limit. Read the articles. Pick up an SEO book. Keep up with the news. But don’t hire an SEO expert and then tell them you’re an SEO expert. For example, you may be excited to learn about all of the SEO devices that could be at your disposal. Don’t blame the SEO firm for failing to use them all at once. Measured, gradual changes are best.
10. Take your company name out of title tags.
Do yourself a favor and make title tags available for search terms, not your long company name. Only keep it if it’s short and useful from a title tag proximity and density standpoint.
Good Luck!

What Are Pay Per Click Reports?
February 4, 2008 | Leave a Comment
A pay per click report will inform you of how many visitors you have had to your website, what keyword they used to get there, and some monitor how long they were there. These reports can be daily, weekly, or monthly. There are free pay per click services however they do not give you all the information that you can get from a paid service.
Companies mainly use a monthly report on the traffic to their websites. In order to utilize the pay per click service to it’s utmost ability, they must report data from web marketing as well as other crucial information. This will allow the user to examine their marketing strategies to decide if they are working.
Some pay per click companies put a tracking code in your website to monitor sales. How many customers have signed in and what they are interested in is also tracked. Most will prepare a report that is easy to understand. It will contain information about the sales generated by the people using pay per click, visitor breakdown, and anything else they think is of particular interest to the website owner.
The benefits of using pay per click are invaluable to companies that want to use their website to generate more income for the company. With so many people having access to the internet, it is the number one way that customers seek and find the company that they want to use for their needs. These reports will allow you to see how well your company is doing by how many internet visitors you have each day.
One of the benefits of using a pay per click report is the tracking of keyword use. When advertising your business, keywords are used to direct traffic to your website. When you use pay per click the reports you get will show which keywords worked the best and which ones you need to replace. A good keyword will have more hits on it and the keywords with the least hits means you need to find another. By doing this you will know the difference.
The reports can show you how to optimise your initial web site page to get more visitors. There are certain items that people look for when going to a web page. With the reports from pay per click, the ones that work the best will be suggested so you can get the most from your website.
Pay per click reports can help you to know for sure how many people have logged into your website. It is the best way to be aware of just how well your advertising is doing. You could advertise in the newspaper, on a billboard, or by direct mail but how are you going to know the number of people who have seen your advertisement? Plain and simply, you are not.
By using pay per click you will know the exact number of visits to your website. This report will become an important tool to help you make the most of your web page and give you the knowledge you need to optimise the site you use for generating income.

Tips And Strategies For Effective Online Advertising
January 14, 2008 | Leave a Comment
In today’s fast-paced, technology-driven world, online advertising is a a medium of promotion that uses the Internet in delivering potent or wide-reaching marketing approaches that will attract more customers.
One of the examples of online advertising includes banner ads, contextual ads on search engine results pages, advertising networks and e-mail marketing, which sadly also includes e-mail spam.
A definitive result of online advertising is that information and content that are not limited by time or space, as the emerging arena of interactive advertising presents fresh challenges for advertisers who have previously have adopted an interruptive strategy.
How Online Ads Are Purchased
At present, there are three common methods of purchasing online advertising space. These are through the CPM, CPC and CPA modes. In the CPM method (Cost Per Impression), advertisers pay for exposure of their product or marketing message to a specific audience, and these costs are priced per thousand impressions. The M in the acronym stands for the Roman numeral for one thousand.
In the Cost Per Visitor (CPV) format, advertisers pay for the delivery of a Targeted Visitor to the advertisers website. In the CPC, or Cost Per Click method, which is also referred to as the Pay per click (PPC) system, online advertisers pay every time a user clicks on their listing and is redirected to their website. The advertisers do not actually pay for the listing, but only do so when the listing is clicked on.
This system allows advertising analysts to refine searches and gain information about their market. Under the Pay per click costing mode, advertisers pay for the right to be listed under a series of target rich words that direct relevant traffic to their website, and pay only when someone clicks on their listing which links directly to their website. CPC differs from CPV in that each click is paid for regardless of whether the user makes it to the target site.
In the CPA, or Cost Per Action system, advertising is based on performance, and is a common method in affiliate marketing programs. In this advertising scheme, the publisher takes all the risk of running the ad, and the advertiser pays only for the amount of users who complete a transaction, such as a purchase or sign-up. According to industry observers, this is the best type of rate to pay for banner advertisements and the worst type of rate to charge.
Useful Tips For Effective Online Advertising
According to advertising veterans, the fundamental logic behind online advertising, is acquiring a better understanding of the experience that customers want, and also in finding ways to improve it. The prime target of Internet advertising is to drive more customers to your Web site, as well as to make them visit your location, increase awareness about your products and services, or make them call about your products or services.
The good thing about employing this method, is that it can be done at a very low cost. In fact it could be totally free, particularly if you advertise by sending out a newsletter or swap links with other sites. In other instances, it is estimated to cost from anywhere between $100 and $3,000 per month to advertise on popular sites, depending on the ad type.
While standard offline advertising is still being used as a method to drive online consumers to Web sites, some companies are now trying online ads like banners, pay-per-click ads and pop-ups. There are also online newsletters, magazines and journals, Web sites, search engines, which are all good avenues for reaching target customers who shop or gather information online.
Whenever you wish to do online advertising, it is imperative that you always keep your ad content concise and clear, as well as try to relate your ad to a basic emotion or situation that is likely be shared by the consumers that you are trying to reach. Simply putting company logo on a banner would not be appropriate enough to get people to click and buy. A good way of enhancing your ad is by adding a message that will register with your target market.
Unlike radio or TV viewers and listeners, online customers are probably already focused on something else and are known to only pay scant attention when your ad appears. This is the main reason why online ads need to have that extra, unique appeal, and should also need to be placed where your target niche will be able to view them. You must be able to properly formulate your ad according to specific demographic aspects such as age, gender, income level, education, hobbies and others.

Internet Marketing Strategy - What Can You Do For Me To Make You Money Today
January 14, 2008 | Leave a Comment
One aspect of making money online that often gets overlooked is providing a service for the millions of website and blog owners. Let’s look at this closer.
Most website and blog owners do not have the knowledge, time, or money to do everything it takes to run an online business these days. This can be good news for you.
You can make money by providing a service that solves a problem for all of these webmasters. If you are smart, and I know you are :-), you will get a pen and piece and paper and start writing after you get done reading this.
What do you know how to do that you could do for someone. I start an article writing company a couple of years ago for my son. We ended up developing it into a full time income.
I recently started a service to write and submit articles because we had so many requests to market the articles we were writing for our customers.
I helped a friend of mine start a business building blogs for people because blogging is so important today and many people do not know how to set up their own.
We started writing blog articles as well because of the number of blogs there are online today. We just write them a little shorter than our regular articles so people can paste them in their blogs.
I have seen people make money online providing these type of service as well…
- website customization
- search engine optimization
- managing pay per click campaigns
- creating software
- publishing newsletters for people
- posting comments in blogs
- website building
- providing customer service via phone and email
- posting in forums
- ghostwriting
- set up autoresponder email campaigns
- create videos for blog owners
- customize private label right products
- do telemarketing for mlm business owners
- create graphics and sell them
This is just a few ideas off of the top of my head. You may think of others.
I guarantee you that if there is a need for a service on the internet there are people willing to pay you to do it for them.
The quickest way to make your service known online is to set up a sales page describing your service.
Then add a PayPal button for ordering.
Finally join several internet marketing forums and set up a signature file letting people know what you off. Include a link back to your sales page.
As your business grows start a testimonial page and ask for referrals from you satisfied customers.
You will probably never get rich providing a service, but you can make a very good living over time, and you get to stay at home which beats going to work everyday for someone else.

Why you should create a landing page
January 14, 2008 | Leave a Comment
For affiliate marketing, landing pages would refer to the page where you as the seller want your potential customer to be re-directed to after clicking the link on your affiliate partner’s website. The same goes for any information and articles that you produce related to your product, as this is the perfect place to put direct keyword rich links directing to your landing page.
Landing pages are not that much different from the other web pages on a website. Some web marketers will often use the homepage of their websites as the landing page for their product or service. However, some of these web marketers could be making a mistake…
You could follow what most on-line sellers do by directing their potential customers to the homepages of their websites. However, if you want to achieve something more from your on-line business and increase your profits, it is much better to create a special landing page for your web based adverts. Why is this? Below I have listed the main reasons why you need to use landing pages for your product or service.
Note: Be well advised that it’s so much better to create a great well written landing page that explains the benefits the customer will get from purchasing your product, than a quick and messy one that could put potential customers off your site forever!
Benefit no. 1: It is the best way you can earn conversions in an affiliate marketing program.
There are a variety of affiliate marketing programs today, but most of these programs let you the merchant pay the affiliate in a pay per click (PPC) basis. Basically, all you have to do is sign up with the program and submit details of your product/service in the form of an advert. The program owner would then distribute your advert to various affiliates who would then place your advert on their websites. Whenever your advert is clicked, a visitor would be directed to your landing page and you would have to pay the affiliate for his service. Note: There are alternative programs to PPC, such a Clickbank, but I’ll stick to PPC for these examples.
As a merchant, you earn in an affiliate program through conversions, which is when a visitor that is directed to your site actually buys a product on your site. Without these conversions, you actually earn nothing from the program. Also, the more visitors that your affiliates have directed to your site, the larger your expense would be on PPC programs. And the only way that you can recover from these expenses is through conversions.
Now, you sure won’t get any conversion if you have posted an advert on your affiliate’s site without an actual landing page for the potential customer to be redirected into. It’s just like advertising a product without actually having a store to sell your product. Your advertisement may be enticing enough to encourage people to purchase a product, but without the landing page, how will they know how to purchase the product and what benefits they will gain from buying it?
It is therefore important to create a landing page for your product or service because it is the only way for you to earn something in an affiliate program. Without landing pages, all you do is spend money paying your affiliates without actually getting anything in return.
Benefit no. 2: Standard web pages may not be enough to make a sale.
Many people make the mistake of making their website’s homepage as the landing page for their product or service. Homepages are often designed to serve many type of users and will normally contain a lot of links to other pages and other websites. In this sense, your site is an authority on a certain subject where you can publish information and articles on various topics related to your site subject. If you want to be successful in an affiliate program, be sure that you don’t have your landing page automatically displayed to everyone on the homepage, especially since many visitors will not be really interested the your product or service your landing page promotes.
For this reason, I would add a landing page as a separate page on your site. If you sell multiple products then create multiple landing pages. You can link to an individual landing page from your homepage and also link directly to the page from your affiliate adverts.
When creating a landing page you have to ensure that an interested customer is directed into that page. Therefore, your landing page must be relevant to the keywords and the content you placed on your advert. It is also important that the landing page can entice your visitor to take action. You goal should be a least to generate a lead for your potential customers.
Summing it all up
You probably entered into an affiliate marketing program to save on the cost of advertising expenses in order to gain more profit. However, if you get into an affiliate marketing program to sell your product or service without actually creating a landing page, you’ll end up paying too much without getting anything in return. If you don’t have a landing page for your product or service, look at creating one now. Most importantly, remember that it isn’t enough for you just to create a landing page - it should be a great landing page that will entice your customers to take action and buy!

Pay Per Click - 5 Killer Steps to Get Cut-Throat Targeted Website Traffic Using PPC Engines
January 12, 2008 | Leave a Comment
Are you interested in driving targeted traffic to your website starting within next few minutes?
Pay per click search engines are used by website owners to drive targeted traffic to their sites.
Website owners post their ads on ppc search engines, their ad networks and site that are visited by their target markets.
This is one of the most targeted ways to advertise an internet business.
Here are 5 Killer Steps that Will Boost Your Website Traffic and Sales through Pay Per Click…
Step 1 - Make Every Word Count.
You can only place very few words in your ad. Therefore you have to make sure that each and every word counts and helps you to attract your visitors attention.
Use words that are highly related and relevant to your products and services.
Make your ads short, to the point and interesting.
Step 2 - Write Your Ads Creatively.
Think of different words and tactics that can grab attention of your target market and make them click your ad.
On the other side you have to be sure that your ad only gets clicks of people who are interested in your products or else if you end up getting non targeted visitors you will end up paying more for useless traffic.
Step 3 - Communicate Your Offer.
Your ad has to be easy to understand, well written and must contain a clear call to action.
Step 4 - Try to Get the High Spot.
If you bid higher you will end up getting a higher spot on the results page and thus more traffic.
To make sure that you are recovering back and making profits you have to track and increase your websites conversion rates.
Step 5 - Create Many Landing Pages.
It is important that you use different landing pages for various ads and different groups of keywords.
Doing this you will be able to track effectively as to which groups of keywords and ads are effective and which are waste of your time and money.
Once you know which are converting well you can drop out the useless ones and invest more in the ads and keywords that are working for you.

Online Business Opportunity. Make Money Online Fast!
January 11, 2008 | Leave a Comment
For anyone searching for an Online Business Opportunity, there is one way to make money online that is easy, fast and extremely profitable. There is no need to spend huge amounts of cash on fancy websites or spend hours and hours on search engine optimisation. Just a bit of research, and a small start up fee and off you go.
Sounds too easy? Well, there are thousands of online business opportunities offered on the internet. Some of them really do work, but a vast majority are just preying on the naivety and vulnerability of the person with a dream to make money online fast.
Very often, these businesses take up so much of your precious time (and money) and give you little if anything in return! This business however, works on auto pilot once it’s set up and you are completely in control of what niche you choose to enter and what type of products you want to market.
Yes, I did say products, but don’t panic! You don’t have to buy or sell your own product with this Online Business Opportunity, you promote somebody else’s. This is called affiliate Marketing.
The principle behind this business is that you send potential buyers to a website that is selling the product that you are promoting, if they buy that product, you get paid a commission. Simple!
Commission fees for this online business opportunity are as high as 70% of the price of the product. So if a product cost $50, you would receive the princely sum of $35 in commission. Not bad for just sending visitors (who are actually looking for this type of product) to a website!
So how do you actually send visitors to someone else’s website without owning a website of your own?
You advertise! You can advertise on Google and other search engines via pay per click. This means that every time someone clicks on your ad, you pay a set amount (agreed by you), and that person is taken directly to the Affiliate Sales Page.
You can set a budget for your pay per click and when that amount is reached, the search engine will remove the ad, so you are always in control of what you spend with this online business opportunity.
The other benefit is that you don’t have any orders to handle, no payments to process and no hassels what so ever. You just sit back and wait for your check to come through every month! It really is one of the quickest and easiest ways to make money online.
