February 4, 2008 | Leave a Comment
Link exchange is the process of exchanging hyper links from one website to another content-related website and the main benefit is to boost up a page rank in major search engines. Because link exchange is one of the best ways to improve the link popularity of a website, it became a crucially important strategy for all internet business owners.
You can easily find that websites displayed in first 3 pages in main search engines have at least 2,000 to 3,000 inbound links. One thing you should keep in mind is that the more inbound links is not always the better.
1. You should get inbound links from high quality websites with high PR. In some cases, you should spend some money to get linked. In case of link exchange, you really should exchange links with websites with 3 or higher PR. Inbound links from low quality website can gives you big damage.

Viral Marketing : B2B Marketers Do It, Too
February 3, 2008 | Leave a Comment
They use viral marketing by e-mail as a marketing tool… what did you think I meant? Viral marketing can work well for B2B providers, as long as the following is true:
1. The product or service has to add value for the sender, as well as, the receiver.
2. The offer has to be deliverable. You don’t want to offer a product that you can’t deliver if demand grows rapidly.
3. The offer has to be easily transferable to others. E-mail and Web pages provide the best medium to facilitate this.
4. The vest viral marketing campaigns use existing networks to move the message along.
The basis of viral marketing has been around for a long time. The idea is that you incite your customers or referral sources to pass on something about your business to their network of colleagues and friends. Those that pass on your information get something in return. The something might be a gift or service related to your business.
Using e-mail makes it incredibly easy to pass information on to a friend or colleague, especially if it involves something fun or free. With millions using the Internet worldwide, the potential for exponential growth is tremendous. The great things about viral marketing are that it is free and works virtually by itself. Once you make an offer and provide the facility for referrals, viral marketing spreads like… well… a virus…but the good kind.
To implement viral marketing at your business; first, start with your customer base. Incite existing customers to refer new ones. Second, go to your referral sources. Service providers, your outside network and colleagues can be encouraged to provide referrals that lead to business.
If your customers are stressed business owners, offer a reward that provides relaxation and leisure… like a weekend away.

February 3, 2008 | Leave a Comment
Building and maintaining a high quality list of subscribers is vital to any marketers success. Let’s go over some of the most important steps you need to take to ensure you build a profitable list:
1)First, make sure you put up a good landing page. It should be well-designed and professional looking. If you don’t have any design skills then hire someone to do this for you.
2)Next, put a web form on your landing page and offer your customers the opportunity to opt-in to your mailing list. Give something away free to encourage them to opt in.
3)Make sure any freebies you give away are of the highest quality, because the subscribers on your list will judge the worthiness of your products and services based on the freebies they get.
4)Include a lot of professionally written content and interesting information for your visitors. Your customers will want to read interesting things and want to look for more than just a sales pitch. Content sites are a great way to build trust and loyalty. You can build a content site jam-packed with articles and helpful information, then link to your sales page from your content site.
5)Make sure you keep your customer’s information private. If you tell your customer’s you will not share his or her personal information, then don’t share it with anyone. You will ruin your reputation, and word spreads fast on the Internet.
6)Take some time to try the product you offer yourself. Make sure it is something you consider worthy of buying. If you are selling a book you wrote, make sure it has mass appeal and will benefit the target audience you plan to market it to.
7)Provide top-notch customer service. This is THE number one way to stay ahead of the game. If your customers are happy and you resolve their questions and complaints immediately, then you will win their loyalty and trust.
8)Reward customers that refer others to you. This is a simple way to build trust and loyalty.
9)Respond to your customer’s complaints or inquiries immediately, with the goal in mind always being to satisfy your customer.
10)Remain truthful and honest in all you do. A customer will sniff out a scam faster than a dog will a bone. Don’t lie, don’t trick and don’t steal. Be honest and be who you are, and you will do well working on the Web and building your opt-in list.

Deciding Between Do It Yourself & Outsourcing Your Article Writing
January 12, 2008 | Leave a Comment
Article marketing is a very good method for internet marketing and for branding your business. But it can take a lot of time if you write all your articles.
Few marketers outsource this task to writers who write then for money and handover the articles with authorship and rights.
Such people are called ghostwrites, they are actual writers but invisible, therefore ghostwriters.
Though I am a strong advocate of writing one’s own article, you may need to resort to outsourcing your work if,
* You do not get the time to do the stuff.
* Your business demands on aggressive approach and has put heavy burden on you.
Outsourcing your article writing would definitely save you a lot of time.
You can get your articles written in batches and then arrange for submission on you own pace. As it is true for every outsourced work, it would cost you money. Although the market is competitive and prices are lower as compared to earlier times, you would end up paying $3 - $5 per articles to avail services of an average ghostwriter.
Better ones would demand higher fee.
On the contrary, if you write your own articles it does not cost you a penny. Moreover, your knowledge of the subject improves as you research and write. Your writing skills improve. This is especially true if you have just begun your business. Searching for material to write an article that dispenses the information further is creatively very satisfying.
This way your learning does not stop.
A ghostwriter cannot know your business better than you. He is good at writing and would deliver you well written article. Over the period, your article would become voice of your business. Whom do you want to choose as your voice - ghostwriter or yourself?
Still, if you need your articles to be written by a ghostwriter, you should choose after careful deliberation and stick to him/her till a long time. This is important to give your business a constant voice.
My personal opinion is that you should write all the articles yourself in the beginning. You would save hundreds of dollars and enrich your knowledge too. Later, when your business grows and you are not able to cope with its pace and amount of work, you can think of hiring someone.

10 Things Every Marketer Should Know About Article Writing
January 11, 2008 | Leave a Comment
As Google and it’s natural language search algorithm have grown in popularity, article writing has become one of the most effective ways for marketers to develop high-quality inbound links to their website. Articles provide opportunities to develop informative, contextual content around high-value keywords. And, with article directories providing plenty of free distribution, the ease and benefit of article writing has never been greater.
So, if you are ready to start testing the waters, but not sure what you need to know, here’s out top 10 list of things every marketer should know about article marketing.
1. Write about what you know. And, write about what your reader may not know. For example, if your company sells the latest and greatest widget, then write about the benefits of your widget. Yes, it is a good idea to cover the basic value propositions. But articles are also a great opportunity to feature the lower-level features and benefits that would otherwise be left out of your marketing materials.
2. Before you start writing, do some research. Find out what others are writing about and look for current trends. If you cover topics that are old and stale, expect to have your article buried at the bottom of some very long search engine results.
3. Organize your findings in the form of notes. You can write these notes in any format you want, but the best way I have found is to organize them in to bullet points. List the most important things that you want to share with your reader. Make the list as long as you’d like, but then limit the number you actually include to about ten items — more or less depending on the depth of information contained in each item.
4. Structure your article. A good article usually consists of three main parts: an introduction, the body, and the conclusion. Make the introduction succinct, yet captivating. The body of your article should be designed so that it can be easily consumed by the reader, so avoid the long narratives. Here’s where those notes come in handy — stick to the message and avoid fluff. The conclusion is the final impression that you will leave your reader with, so keep it tight.
5. Draft, draft and draft again. When you are writing, don’t get bogged down in the process. Start putting thoughts down in much the same way that you may speak to another colleague. After your first draft is complete, you can review and clean up, so don’t let spelling and sentence structure slow you down the first time through.
6. Collaborate with a peer. There is nothing worse then producing in a vacuum. Without critical feedback you will never whether your article conveys the sentiments you want or if the quality is good enough. Remember, that once published your article will begin a life of its own. Most article sites allow others to repurpose your article content, so long as the signature remains intact. SO expect to see your article somewhere else. Get it right by getting feedback before you publish.
7. So what should you do if you can’t come up with a good idea for your article? No worries! There’s plenty to write about, if you know where to look. Here are a few places to go to get your writing juices flowing:
* User forums are one of my favorite places. There are so many ideas floating through it from newbie questions to experienced marketers’ feedback and everything in between.
* Chat rooms, like forums also offer these great benefits. You don’t have to participate, but it wouldn’t be a bad idea if you did to get more feedback.
* Television, radio and blogs. Snippets of information, quick tips or polls/surveys can ignite a great article topic.
* Magazines, newsletters and newspaper. There are a good variety of headlines that are interesting, thought provoking, controversial and opinionated. Take it and run with it.
* Question and answer sites like Yahoo Answers or LinkedIn’s Q&A. They provide plenty of questions and some good responses, too.
8. Choose a good format for your article. If you have a lot to cover use a numbered list, like this article. People love reading about tips. They are precise and to the point. How To articles are a great idea, also. Most people are keen on learning how to do something well, so “How To” articles peak their interests.
9. Search engine optimize your article. Make sure that your article is written for the readers and the search engine. Optimize by using 2-3 chosen keywords in your article. Repeat the keywords — use them in the title and the body — but avoid keyword stuffing, as the article won’t read well. Keep your keyword density per article to 3% and below.
10. Choose a Good Title. Try to avoid generic title like ‘How To Write An Article’. Instead, engage your reader and leverages the search engines with specificity. Choose a title like ‘How To Write Articles To Build Your Website Traffic’. Your articles will have much more credibility this way.
So there you have it. No, this article will not be printed in the NY Times, nor will it win a Pulitzer. But, the point is to provide useful insights that others will find useful. And, if they do they just might publish your article on their site or link to it in their blog.
Are there 10 things that you know that everyone else really ought to know? Looking for a place to show off your knowledge? Submit an Article at 10 Things You Should Know.

How Joint Ventures can Work for you and your Online Business
January 11, 2008 | Leave a Comment
Joint ventures (JV) are powerful marketing strategies that are well worth the effort it takes to learn. Anyone working online trying to earn a reasonable income needs to get serious about learning how to participate in joint ventures, particularly in the increasingly popular JV giveaway events.
So why are joint ventures worth learning how to do? Just look at the multiple benefits for your business and tell me where else you will find such value in one operation.
• Grow your internet marketing list quickly.
• Grow your online business with less effort and expense.
• Create new internet marketing relationships that count.
• Low cost of joint venture giveaway events.
• Discover new ways to promote your business
• Get referrals and or testimonials from joint venture partners.
• Build trust and credibility for your internet product or service.
• Build your reputation as an experienced internet marketer with respected JV partners.
• Build your authority in your internet marketing specialty or service.
That is not bad for starters. Now let’s look at what joint ventures are and how they can work for you and your online business.
Let’s take a look at the Internet Marketing Joint Venture - the Giveaway. This is where a group of marketers work together to giveaway different products. Each JV partner benefits from the advertising they all receive because everyone is promoting the same giveaway event.
Consumers find valuable items they like for free. They download good quality digital products by providing basic contact information. Hence each JV partner builds his list. All of the JV partners build from the same consumers, so it is important to have a unique and strong product.
A JV Giveaway costs almost nothing for the JV partner. Chances are good that you already own a dozen or more digital products with giveaway rights. Or you could assemble your own information product on the theme of the giveaway and make money on the One Time Offer (OTO) that pops up when your digital product is delivered. If you are careful in selecting your product it will already have your affiliate identification built into it, so whenever someone buys from a link in your product you will receive residual income. Nice touch.
There are several steps to making a joint venture giveaway work. It is essential to check each step along the way to be sure that all the links are leading to the correct places. Always. Repeat, ALWAYS, check your work before you put it out LIVE online. You really want to be the one finding that nearly invisible embarrassing mistake rather than a customer or a colleague.
Pay attention to your joint venture details, record where you posted and track your marketing campaigns.

The Advantage Of Two Tier Affiliate Programs
January 10, 2008 | Leave a Comment
To those who are not familiar with affiliate marketing, two-tier could be a new term to you but to those who are involved in this kind of money-making experience; it could mean a stream of income. Two-tier is an enticing feature of a particular affiliate program wherein, affiliates are allowed to sign-up additional affiliates below them. So that when the sub-affiliates otherwise known as second tier affiliates, earns a commission, the affiliate above receives a commission too.
In two-tier system, the first tier of commission is just like in the usual affiliate program. The sole difference is that it has an additional tier/s or sub-affiliates, whereby marketers also gain a commission once the people that the additional tiers referred to the program generate sales. Theoretically, affiliate programs can have multi-tier program with infinite number of tiers, however, there are practical limitations. As tiers increase, the affiliate program draws more webmasters who are mostly interested in gaining profit from other’s work and effort.
Two-Tier affiliate program is also recognized as Multi-Level Marketing. When you sign-up for an affiliate program, you are identified as the first tier and the person that you have recruited or encouraged to sign up is the second tier. If there are additional tiers, then the system can now be regarded as multi-level marketing (MLM). But today, MLM isn’t as effective and successful as it was several years ago. It is because at present, affiliates can freely select from thousands of affiliate programs and they can quickly switch from one program to another.
You could probably go wrong if you’re thinking that you can depend on your second tier to do the job for you. So if you want to use two-tier affiliate program to your advantage and generate more income by encouraging sub-affiliates to sign-up below you, make sure that you carefully choose your affiliate merchant. Pick those merchants who generate stable stream of high quality products, give high or just commissions, offers real time tracking, furnishes you with a proven and tested advertising arsenal and treat their affiliates very well. You can also sign-up for the merchant who gives high visitors-to-sales conversion rate.
It is also advisable if you engage yourself with a web merchant that has a user-friendly website which you can access anytime so that you can monitor your statistics including visits and sales. And if possible, choose the one with powerful marketing tools which you can use in promoting their products.
You’re just wasting much of your time and effort and worse, damaging your integrity once you promote poor affiliate program because your visitor will surely presume that the product or service you are reselling must be dreadful too. That’s the reason why it is important to pick first-rate affiliate programs. Through these, you can not only build up a good relationship with your visitor, but also, you can easily get more tiers to sign-up under you. You should also be cautious of some affiliate programs that give more importance on the profits to be earned in taking on other affiliates than on the income from sales, because you’ll just eventually find out that someone has already close those sales without informing you. Usually, this kind of affiliate program offers a very low first-tier payment but a sky-scraping second-tier commission.
If you want to start an affiliate program of your own, you surely have to decide whether it will be a single tier or two-tier affiliate program. Who am I to say which of these two programs are better? But let me tell you the benefits you could get out of two-tier affiliate program.
First, your profit will increase due to increased sales from the customers that your second tier has referred. Second, you have a much broader customer base to which you can sell your products and services. Then, you gain more and stable income because the customers referred by your affiliate and sub-affiliates could probably develop a lifetime loyalty on your site and your products. Plus, you have an army of sub-affiliates who will promote and resell your products and services to their visitors and subscribers.
Two-tier program has been a proven winner and should be the number one choice for the budding affiliates as well as for the affiliate program managers. When you start gaining profits from your site as well as your tiers, this is now the right time to say that you have used two-tier affiliate program to your advantage.

Explode Your Viral Marketing Efforts Using Forums!
January 10, 2008 | Leave a Comment
Viral Marketing sounds like something bad but it is actually something very good. It is, also, a powerful way to generate traffic to your website.
Think about how a virus spreads from on person to another. One person gets sick and just by sneezing they can give the virus to many more people… those people get sick and share their germs with everyone they know and the next thing anybody knows is that there is an epidemic.
That is the very concept of viral marketing. The idea is to get everyone to spread your marketing message around because they want to.
Recently, forum marketing has been touted as a kind of free, organic, viral marketing.
But because so many marketers go into forums purely with the intention of marketing products or services, their actions and attitude unwittingly causes the exact opposite of the desired effect.
Forums aren’t marketplaces but when used as such, the marketers’ actions become offensive and will only inspire the wrath of fellow members and marketers, not to mention moderators who can ban them from the site with the click of their mouse.
In order to be effective, this kind of marketing carries a certain degree of commitment, responsibility and respect.
The first requirement is to take a personal interest in the main topic of the forum. Not only does that mean visiting it regularly, but it also means developing a good relationship with both other members and the moderators, as well as taking an active interest in helping others.
Of course, it also means abiding by and all rules that exist. By doing this, one can develop a reputation and, since it is human nature to work with a trusted colleague, business will naturally develop from this.
This type of marketing has already suffered some abuse and because of this, many forums have recently developed stringent rules designed to protect their members from abusive or overly-aggressive marketing tactics.
One forum grants .sig files only after a member has created one hundred valid posts and another has disallowed ads in sig files altogether.
Marketers must respect that the purpose of a forum is to be a platform to exchange ideas on a given topic. It is not there to advertise products and services.
By focusing on the topic and posting questions and answers, a marketer’s reputation will grow and this creates the potential for sales naturally.
