When you are seriously decided to work on your website ranking, you should understand very simple thing – you can’t move yourself on the top through some tricks and doing nothing after this – instead you have to contribute to your product consumers community by giving them really new and important information and you have to make it publicly known by placing non-commercial news in media portals. And the common format for this type of community work is Article. Obviously the more articles the better, however the quality of article, and unfortunately in nowadays reality there is such thing as Search Engine Optimization or SEO, which allows you to play on the some holes or weaknesses in internet search engines, such as google, yahoo, msn. You could expect that in the future the gap will be sealed up, but for our epoch we would like to give you some hints:
1. Why Article? Because article format dictates minimum of advertisement and maximum of new knowledge or author contribution as trusted source of information. This is the reason why article has more trust and potentially get your website higher than other types of news. Also article is typically syndicated and you may expect your article to show up on more websites than where you submitted it.

2. Should I support article with photos and video? Yes, ideally you should, however at this time majority of leading article media sites do not have video upload option, and are limited in pictures upload support. As time goes we expect media portals will be switching to new article formats. However article is not a video or photo blog – again article has new knowledge, while blog is more about author impression or amateur fiction

3. Where to submit your articles. There are a lot of competing websites. You should do you due diligence and analyze the page rank of the media portal – it should be higher than two at least. In some cases you should make an exception and try new and very promising site to see how your article will be ranked by google for instance

4. SEO tricks. We really don’t like this gap in internet search engines, however it is obvious – if you place high density of your keywords in the article header and master to publish this article in high ranked media portals - you will be ahead of competition

PageRank is a family of algorithms for assigning numerical weightings to hyper linked documents (or web pages) indexed by a search engine. PageRank is Google’s way of deciding a page’s importance. PageRank is one of the methods Google uses to determine a pages relevance or importance.

When you actually perform a search on Google, PageRank is only one of the factors that are taken into account in deciding which results are prese, and in what order.

I was starting to believe some of the people out there that say “PageRank is Dead”. But PageRank isn’t just an indication of how many Web pages point to your page, it’s an indication of how important those sites that point to your page are too. PageRank ias essentially a popularity rating, and a page’s PageRank is determined by the inbound links from other pages on the web. So those with more links get more PageRank, but the value of PageRank is on a logarithmic scale thus it increases exponentially.

It’s important to remember that PageRank is just one factor out of about 200 factors.

I’m not so sure that PageRank is based on keywords, because it is what it is. Nonetheless, Yahoo can afford the best search engineers in the business (if they can get them before Google does, anyway) and the patent filings shed some light on how PageRank is currently calculated and ways it might be improved in the future. If a site is showing up in the search results,

it doesn’t not have a real PR of zero, the Toolbar is just out of date”In another forum, a person with the name GoogleGuy, who is believed to a Google employee, made the following statement: “I’d strongly disagree with the statement that the toolbar PageRank is for ‘entertainment purposes only’–millions of toolbar users use the PageRank display to judge the quality of pages. Of course, PageRank is important to get good rankings on Google.

So, if you’re used to this toolbar you must wait until the Smart PageRank is again available. Contrary to the concept of link popularity, PageRank is not simply based upon the total number of inbound links.

The basic approach of PageRank is that a document is in fact considered the more important the more other documents link to it, but those inbound links do not count equally. Google representatives, such as engineer Matt Cutts, have publicly indicated that the Toolbar PageRank is republished about once every three months, indicating that the Toolbar PageRank values are generally unreliable measurements of actual PageRank value for most periods of the year. Regarding the implementation of PageRank, first of all, it is important how PageRank is integrated into the general ranking of web pages by the Google search engine.

There are a number of things to look for when starting your own online affiliate business. But, before I get into the specifics of what to search for, the one aspect that an individual must possess in order to be a successful Internet marketer is PERSISTENCE. With out this quality you might as well stop reading right now. Like many successful entrepreneurs, persistence is one of the main qualities that allow them to be successful. Once you acquire this characteristic there is no stopping you.

Now, let me get into the specifics for all the ADD people out there like my self before I lose you.

Keyword Research

First, one of the main aspects of being a productive affiliate marketer is niche market research. You must find an unexploited niche market that has limited advertising competition. The number of advertisers in a certain market is key to being profitable with your product, the fewer advertisers the better. One of the best tools to use to find these unexploited niche markets is Google Adwords. If you have a google account you can sign up for adwords for free in your account information.

This tool allows you to research for keywords that have a descent average search volume and also lists the average number of advertisers for each keyword. This is crucial to finding the right market to promote with your marketing skills. Without this important market research you will be wasting your time. I do not know about you but my time is definitely precious to me. I cannot say it enough but RESEARCH, RESEARCH, RESEARCH is critical to being profitable in this business.

Affiliate Programs

Next, once you find that unexploited niche market, yep you guessed it, more research. Now you have to find the affiliate programs that pertain to that particular market. For example, lets say you want to promote garden tools, you will have to find companies on the Internet that manufacture or sell these products and make sure they have affiliate programs for you to sign up with. Once you find these companies make sure to read up on their affiliate programs. Some of the things to look out for are the percentage of commission you will receive with their affiliate program. If the costs of products are expensive then the percentage should range from five to fifteen percent, if the products are cheap you will be looking for a percentage higher than fifteen percent, like twenty to fifty percent.

Other stuff to look for when applying for affiliate programs is how they pay you and how often they pay you. Usually most programs send you checks once your commissions have exceeded a certain amount like over fifty dollars, only so they will not be sending checks out for five dollars or something ridiculous like that. Some of the best affiliate programs out there are Clickbank and LinkShare. These programs carry over thousands of different products that are just waiting for someone to promote them.

Generating Traffic

The last part of the process is generating traffic for your new affiliate product. There are several different methods you can use all at the same time to maximize your full potential.

You can write blogs about you product. Promoting the benefits of your product and using your affiliate link to monetize that blog. Blogger.com is free and simple to use for anybody, and I do mean anybody. Article marketing is another free and easy way to generate traffic to your affiliate site. Myspace is another great way to promote your business and products by talking to your friends online about what you are doing.
Participating in forums is one more option you can use to promote your products and affiliate links.

These are just a few ways to generate traffic for your affiliate links; there are many more options out there.

What are keywords and how does it affect my article success you ask? To understand the power of keywords better, now imagine your article is a car and the main keyword in the article is the key. Without the key the car will not start. Without the proper power of keywords your article will not be search engine friendly thereby reducing the potential success of your unique article. Understanding the power of keywords in the internet search engine game is essential to writing successful articles. These are the word or words your customers are searching for, and also the word or words search engine spiders are crawling your site to find. Simply put, everything dealing with SEO starts with keywords and expands from there.

Let me try to explain the power of keywords in its simplest form. Remember when you go to a search engine and enter in the words to perform the search. Those are your keywords. The keywords for your article are the words you feel are most important to make your article show up on a search engine such as Google, yahoo or msn. To get the power of keywords to make your article search engine friendly, you want to use that word, words, or phrase consistently throughout the article. To get the most from the power of keywords, the keyword density should be around 3% so that your article appears higher on search engines. It can be difficult at first to try and ascertain what your keyword density is. Instead of percentages just use this common sense rule. Your main keyword should appear in your article at a minimum seven to eight times. For best results nine to eleven times is best.

Despite the fact that keywords are one of the most known concepts in the Internet marketing game, many writers make the mistake of not really understanding the concept and how the power of keywords can turn your unique article into a traffic generation machine. In fact, keywords are the keys to your optimization efforts. More than that, they provide clues for you to understand what the hundreds of millions of web visitors are looking for. Since web audience types keywords into the search engine search box, you should write articles to provide information the web surfer are looking for.

Power of keywords is more than words. The keywords are the thoughts of your audience and your job is to give them what they seek. They represent wants, needs and desires. When you use the right keywords on your articles, you’re speaking the emotional language of your target audience. To get the most from the power of keywords you need to learn to speak this language well and the search engines will reward you more visitors to your website.

To fully grasp the power of keywords, imagine your ideal prospect sitting in front of the Yahoo or Google home page with the cursor blinking in the search box. What would he or she type? For example, a person with a new website might type “website traffic for new business” if he or she wants to find an immediate way to start getting a share of the millions of web visitors. A person with a garden might type in “gardening formulas.” A person wanting to eat healthy foods might type “healthy diets.”

Since your main keyword is the key to your car which is your article it does make sense to spend the most time making sure your keywords address known needs of web surfers. Since the power of keywords is the foundation of your article success do your best to sprinkle them in your article eight or nine times at a minimum and when you do that the search engine spiders will come crawling asking for more. Feed the spiders the appropriate information and you will ultimately be very successful.

In this article I am going to discuss how you can employ some useful tools in a clever way to increase the efficiency of submitting articles and publishing content for syndication. But first we need to understand some of the popular strategies that are being used today, why article marketing works in the first place, and an important term called a “duplicate content filter.”

One of the popular methods that bloggers or webmasters will use in order to get more traffic to their website is to create a detailed post about their topic or niche and then submit that same post for syndication in article directories. While syndicating content can be a good way to increase exposure and gain more incoming links, by doing this it is also possible to get slapped with a duplicate content penalty.

The duplicate content filter is something that major search engines recently introduced after the widespread use of link spamming to artificially boost search engine rankings. Link spam is where a webmaster will create numerous copies of a single web page and post them on different domain names in order to increase the number of incoming links to his website. But since this is an artificial way to get more links (as opposed to having various websites link to you on their on accord), it is considered to be a manipulation of the search engine algorithms and is frowned upon.

As soon as the major search engines like this realized that web pages that were irrelevant and filled with advertisements were gaining top rankings due to link spam, they went to work devising a filter that would block all identical pages from being listed, along with any of the pages that they link to (thereby eliminating the artificial rankings that these web pages would get).

In order for a large search engine like Google to return relevant results, they must employ a web robot to “crawl” around the internet and save a copy of every single web page that it finds. This collection of saved pages is called the ‘cache,’ and every time you go to a search engine and type in a keyword, it will search through the cache of stored web pages and deliver the one that is the most relevant to your search and has the most incoming links (an incoming link is considered to be a “vote” that a certain web page is good, and therefore worth linking to).

Well if the Google bot happens to come across a web page that is an identical copy of some other page, the duplicate content filter comes into play and it will make sure that only one copy of this web page is displayed on the search engine results page. But which one to choose?

The search engine is going to brand one of the web pages as the original, and then all other copies of it are going to be subsequently blocked. A few of the factors that determine which page is branded as the original are when it was created, the link strength or Pagerank of the website, and the relevancy of the domain name.

So how does this apply to your article marketing and content syndication? Well if you were to submit the same piece of content to multiple different directories and syndicated feeds, many of those pages are going to end up getting slapped by the duplicate content filter since they are basically carbon copies of each other. The ideal way to avoid this would be to create a unique piece of content to submit to every source, but that would be extremely time consuming.

The way that you can save time and also avoid the duplicate content filter is to use a tool called a “duplicate content checker.” By using this kind of tool, instead of creating a new article from scratch, you can re-write small parts of your existing article and check it to make sure that it is unique enough that it will not be branded as duplicate content. This way, instead of spending 30-50 minutes coming up with a brand new article, you can spend only around 3-5 minutes by creating a slightly altered version that will not appear to be an identical copy.

By doing this you can increase the effectiveness of your article marketing and content syndication, because you can rework each article you submit in just a few minutes so that it will overcome the duplicate content filter, and more pages displaying links back to your website will rank high in the search engines.

You can find a free and great duplicate content tool at http://Coach-Tyler.com/dupchecker which will allow you to compare two articles side by side and make sure that you can overcome the search engine filter.

Google Adsense is one of the top ways for people to make money online today. However, there are thousands that come out with nothing to show for their hard work. Luckily, there are some secrets that can help you earn more from the effort you are putting in. Here are 5 Google Adsense secrets to increase your revenue.

1. Ads above the fold

The best way to make sure every person that visits your site sees your ads is to keep them above the fold. Many people that visit your site do not make it through the entire site before exiting. By placing your ads toward the top of your home page, it is guaranteed that everyone will see your ads. This will drastically increase the number of clicks you get and the income you earn.

2. Cut down clutter

Some people believe that the more banners and flashing images they have on their website, the more appealing it will be to visitors. While you do not want an overly dull website, having too much will only clutter your website. It will also take away the focus from your ads and cause many to overlook your ads altogether.

3. Blend ads with background

It is a proven fact that more people are enticed by ads that look as if you created them. When the font and color look the same as that of the rest of your site, it looks less like an ad and more of something that you created.

4. Focus on a niche

Generally speaking, you want to place Google Adsense ads that are relevant to the theme of your site. There is no sense in putting a gardening ad on an entertainment website because it will receive very few clicks. By placing ads that are related to your site, you will increase the number of clicks you receive and drastically increase your income.

5. Generate traffic

While everything mentioned thus far is important, they all are nothing if you do not receive traffic. The only way to receive clicks is if people are coming to your site. Once you have people coming to your site, then you can practice the tips listed above. Until then, focus on generating traffic to your site.

Google Adsense can be an extremely effective method for earning cash on the internet. Whether you are brand new to the concept or have tried and failed in the past, taking these secrets and applying them will drastically increase the revenue that you earn.

Ever feel like you are spinning your wheels trying to find pages with good PageRank to link to your website? And does it seem those pages are getting sparser and sparser? And are you, perchance, losing valuable sleep. Maybe it’s time to start counting sheep rather than PageRank.

You see, PageRank ain’t what it used to be. In a world without PageRank, you can spinning your wheels and score plenty of bonus points in the search engines, too.

Here is my Top-7 list of reasons to ignore PageRank when exchanging links or submitting one’s website to directories.

1. Toolbar PageRank is a fairy tale. After roaming the Net for links for a little while, you realize that the Toolbar PageRank readings are simply not factual. Just look at any site where a PR3 or PR4 page links to a few dozen internal pages, each of which appear to have PR0 or a gray bar. Whereas on other websites, the home page might register as PR3 or PR4 and so does every internal page, even two or three clicks in.

2. Gray is no longer evil. Once upon a time, a long time ago, gray on the toolbar meant “run”. It meant the page or even the whole website has been banned from Google for doing unspeakable things that could also get you banned by associating with it. Gray no longer means the site is banned. Check the cache feature of the Toolbar and see how many gray pages remain in Google’s index and are perfectly fine and respected. Your edge over your competition is that many of them will ignore good pages because of false Google Toolbar readings.

3. The Toolbar is broken. Increasingly, PageRank flips wildly, where a page registers a certain PageRank, then a week later it’s gone, even though other page on the website might not be affected. Or the whole site might lose PageRank, even those its link profile and its rankings in the search engines have not changed.

4. PageRank isn’t everything. While PageRank (real PageRank, not what the Toolbar shows) is a part of Google’s algorithm, it is only a small part. The theme of the page, how well it is optimized for your search term (as opposed to being well optimized for “Exchange Links”), the anchor text of your link and so many other related factors count more than the actual PageRank.

5. PageRank is only for Google. Yeah, I know…Google delivers 50% or more of search engine traffic, but that is no reason to ignore a page that might help you move up in Yahoo or Ask or MSN…or even send you direct sales (Which is the most gratifying of all).

6. You can simulate PageRank. The simple fact is that it takes very little effort to determine the value Google or any other search engine. If the website ranks well or even somewhat well for some of its important search terms, that is a good start. If the page your link would be placed on is well linked from the home page or even from a page that is linked to from the site template, then you know that whatever PageRank the website has as a whole is being passed along (and that human visitors might even find the page and click on your link, too.). If on the other hand the page your link would go on is one of several dozen that links from a page that is linked to from only the home page, only a small portion of the link value is even going to reach that page. You don’t need an exact number to determine the value of a page; you just need to estimate if the page is worth the effort. After all, topical and keyword relevancy, as well as the absence of red-letter words like “link exchange” or “reciprocal link” are probably more important and you can’t place an exact number on those factors.

7. You might be more successful by ignoring the search engines. I know, this might seem like heresy, but try using your imagination for a minute. Supposing the search engines did not exist. Supposing the only way people would find your website was by clicking on links on other websites. Where would you want your link placed? In some directory with hundreds of other somewhat related websites? Or in the middle of a content page? Guess what? The search engines know what is worthwhile and what’s not. They are not stupid and they are not so easily tricked. If you build links for direct traffic, and make sure they are spiderable by the search engines, the smart guys at Google and yahoo and MSN can figure out that this link took more thought from the webmaster to place and is therefore a better indication of quality and a better vote for your website.

So break free of the PageRank addiction. Make sure you get links on pages cached by the search engines. Make sure the links are spiderable. And go for the highest quality links you can get by using your common sense and figuring it out without the help of that broken fairytale sitting atop your browser window.

The Google adsense program is now one of the most popular ways to make money online for webmasters. If you own a blog or a site then by simply adding adsense you have the opportunity to make good income depending on the levels of traffic your site receives.

However just because your site receives traffic it does not necessarily mean that it will transfer into adsense clicks as website visitors are now familiar with adsense and can be very good at avoiding it. Here are some of the best ways to get your site visitors to notice your ads which means that the likelihood of ad clicks increases significantly.

Tip 1: Use More Ads

If your site is suffering from very low click through rates such as under one percent then adding more ads may help. The adsense program allows 3 ad units and 2 link units. If your page has enough content then seriously consider integrating all these units into your site.

Tip 2: Place Ads Above The Fold

The location of the ads is very important in order to get the most clicks possible. Make sure that you place some ads above the fold on your website. The above the fold area is the part of your site that is first seen when the page loads without the visitor having to scroll down.

Tip 3: Place Ads Toward The Center Of The Page

The center of the page receives the most attention by web visitors so whenever possible center your ads or get them as close as possible towards the center of the page.

Tip 4: Use The Right Colors For Your Ads

Using the right colors in your adsense ads can make a big difference in helping to blend your ads in with the rest of your site. Make sure the link color in your ads match the main link color on your site. It is also preferable to use a grey color for the ad url, this will help to make the ad headline stand out more which should help to increase click through rates since most headlines are written to attract clicks.

Tip 5: Place Ads Directly In Your Articles

You need to place ads directly in your content in order to get them noticed more. If you have an article page then add an adsense unit directly below the title of that article. Also you can use HTML tables to place adsense units in your article paragraphs and have the text in your articles wrap around the ads.

Make sure that you are not squeezing your content too much so be sure to have enough space for large adsense units and also enough text so that your articles still look good and readable. It is best to use the 336×280 ad unit as much as possible as it has been shown to be a good performer and also make sure to always remove borders from all ads as this will make the ads blend in better with the rest of your site.

Also remember that advertising works by creating an interruption in the user experience. Consider television and how you are shown ads without notice right in the middle of your favorite shows. This is done to force you to notice the ads so a similar approach needs to be used with adsense ads to draw more clicks. Put your ads in positions that gently interrupt your visitors without making them want to leave your site. Apply some of these tips to help you get higher adsense click through rates and make more money from your site.

As we all know link building plays a critical role when it comes to website promotion and optimization. Artificial off-page optimization through reciprocal link exchanges has lost most of its value because most of them are made to spam the search engine results, that’s why most of the sites which promoted this linking pattern (link farms) and reciprocal networks have disappeared from the result pages.

Natural linking refers to one-way linking where site A places a vote to site B because of its content and relevance, through this structure site B is not required to place a link back to site A which makes it look more natural to the search engines thus increasing the rank of site B. Creating unique content is often the best way to gain this type of incoming links, however there is a still a similar linking structure which resembles reciprocal exchanges but is not heavily penalized by Google because it looks natural, of course we are talking about A-B-C exchanges.

This particular exchange takes place when site A points to site B and then B doesn’t reciprocate the link but instead points to site C. Using this hybrid method each site gets a one way link except A but this can be fixed by setting up a three-way linking pattern with other sites. For most people this is as far as off-page optimization goes but the truth is that the ABC model can be escalated to complex structures which can be represented through geometrical figures for instance the ABC model can be expressed as a triangle, an A-B-C-D structure can be though of as a square, A-B-C-D-E would be a pentagon and so on. In order for these models to work several domains which are relevant to each other must be involved, theoretically this structure can achieve the aspect of an E8 polytope geometrical figure which wouldn’t resemble the geometrical pattern of reciprocals that is easily detected through a script using the Floyd-Warshall algorithm.

While these are great structures they must be executed with precaution because even though they all seem natural they can still be detected by Google if you escalate the model within your own sites within the same source IP. Some people devaluate the power of ABC and greater linking schemes by placing the references on pages designed exclusively to be link-dumps which provide little to no use to the visitor. A better approach would be to distribute these references within your pages where the exchange doesn’t look like a to artificially manipulate the search results.

At this point some people may think: ‘If I place reciprocal and ABC exchanges within my main site pages I will have no space left to show banners and relevant information’ this is exactly why you shouldn’t entirely focus on one pattern, having a variety of one way and reciprocal arrangements without giving more weight to one structure over the other is what will keep you safe from the search engines raising a red flag on your domains, figuratively speaking of course.

Executing these link structures involves a lot of work but the benefits your domains will get from this work can far exceed those received from reciprocating references.
