Today’s economy shows just how important business and personal development training is to your prospering and getting ahead in today’s fiercely competitive job market. It’s almost funny how complacent so many of us were just recently when we thought the “Bubble” would never burst. Ooh, complacency really hurts!
As housing prices soared just a few years ago, so did our salaries and benefits and many workers with job-security stopped their continuing education. Then as fast as the foreclosure crisis hit main street, bank closures abounded and many companies lost their funding and as a result many, oodles of workers were left jobless and put on the unemployment lines.
Then as these people went out in search of new employment, they quickly understood that not only were they competing with their previous office mates, but also with the recent college graduates who had a whole new set of job skills that many older employees just frankly missed, because they were too busy working!
So how does this affect you?
Well the world of business online that used to just include your business webpage and your email, now is comprised of the Web 2.0 Sites, Social Media and Social Bookmark Sites. A few of the most widely used Social Media sites are Facebook, Myspace and Twitter. A few of the Web 2.0 sites are Google Video, Viddler and YouTube and not to forget the constantly important Social Bookmark sites like Digg and Reddit, just to mention a few of the many out there.
This is important and I bring this up because if these sound alien to you, it’s more than like from a lack of ongoing Business Training in today’s environment. Now I know you may not all be network marketers or directly in online marketing but, training and honing your skills with these marketing mediums will only make you MORE valuable in your next career.
And if you are planning to be your own boss, it’s VITAL that you learn to brand yourself and master attraction marketing that is so essential to your attracting like minded people with whom to do business online.
I see it everyday, people with company replicated websites pushing their products first and acting like idiots online and it’s not their fault - usually, they just haven’t been exposed to a system to teach them how to market themselves first, monetize their leads as they go and smoothly introduce prospects into their business opportunity - And this is only AFTER you have given value first.!
It’s like grandma used to tell me “Don’t ask a girl to get married if you’ve not even been on a first date ! She’ll just think you’re nuts and tell her friends you’re crazy!”
It’s the same way with your network marketing leads and prospects. Provide value first, build the bond and if all that goes well, then share your business opportunity when it feels like a good idea for both of you.
Most IMPORTANT - Don’t blast prospects with your opportunity on the first Date!
This completely highlights the need for ongoing Personal Development Training. While the mechanics of business training above will get you in the door, in the end your level of personal development closes the deal. You MUST invest in yourself in order for others to want to invest in you. You must lead with value first!

Even though you don’t know how it works exactly, you know that if you head over to the Auto Repair Garage and hang out, you’ll at least be in the right place and most likely learn to change that tire without anyone’s help!
